True? Full frontal Lobotomies for all in Paradise to forget what they lost in the world???
by Witness 007 inthe scriptures qouted are about how "the former things will not be called to mind" so brothers in paradise will have that memory portion of their brain "lobotomized" like jack nicolson in "one flew over the cuko's nest.
" they won't remember the disfellowshiped son or daughter burned alive at armagedon...all the dead grandchildren!
they won't suffer from p.t.s {post traumatic stress}.

Perhaps this has already happened.

70 years = 607?
by allelsefails in70 years of captivity?.
i myself have always believed that when archaeology disagreed with the bible the bible must be right.
that is how i dismissed the idea that jerusalem was destroyed in 586/587 bce.

Scholar, I frankly believe that anyone who claims to know that some date or another in the OT is proved from the Bible is talking out their blow hole. How can anyone conclusively state that, according to the Bible, Jerusalem fell in 607 B.C. (exactly 607years prior to Jesus' birth) when:
- True scholars agree that Jesus was born any time from 2 to 7 B.C.?
- There is nothing in the Bible that firmly and clearly fixes the passing of time from an OT event to the birth of Jesus?
Please tell me how you know that Jerusalem fell 607 years before year 1 using the Bible only.

UK investigation report into JW procedures
by dozy init is an open secret amongst elders in the uk that the charities commission has been investigating jw procedures with regard to child protection , particularly following the porter case (an elder who abused children in millhill , the host congregation for the london bethel.).
copies of the report are available below.
it appears that the wts may have to produce crb (criminal records bureau) checks for all elders , something that many brothers have requested for some time , though the wts are dragging their feet (as usual) on this.. http://www.charity-commission.gov.uk/library/investigations/pdfs/lonmill.pdf.

Watch out for cheating gas stations.
by HappyDad ini'm going to check all the gas stations from now on when i refuel.
this is from an email i got from a friend.
there was a report that 1 out of 4 gas stations had calibrated their pumps to show more gas being pumped than what you actually got.. here is how to check a pump to see if you are getting the right amount.. whatever grade you are using, put exactly 10 gallons in your tank, then look at the dollar amount.

I actually watched a state inspector check a pump once. He had a 10 gallon bucket that had marks all the way up the side so he could compare the pump display with the marks as it filled.

2. citizenship at birth for certain persons born in the united states.

This bill restores a smidgen of faith in Washington. I hope that it becomes law. I wonder how it will work if one parent is legal and the other is not.

The amount they dispense has to be adjustable so that if it is off, it can be brought back into tolerance.

Can demons repent?
by heyfea init sounded very funny when my little sister asked my mother during their weekly bible study (some 25 years ago) what would happened if satan repented?
my mom thought she was being a smart-ass and punished her for asking such thing.
but now that i think about it, can any of these fallen angels repent?

Ummm, no He didn't. He repented that He had made man, then drowned them.

I suspect that because you were "of age" (18) at the time, that the statute of limitations is past. It depends on where you live. Perhaps you could start another thread looking for people who were under age - boys as well as girls - that went through this. Have them PM you to maintain their privacy. Make it plain that you are recruiting for a class action suit. Because of the passing of time, you might not qualify yourself, but you could help others. I'll bet you could find quite a few thousand individuals that do qualify. Don't forget to get ex-elders to testify what questions they would ask in the JC's.

It seems to me that the place where the WT is most vulnerable would be in their inquisitions. I have never been involved in a JC in any way, but it seems to me that the law suit that should be brought forward is one of sexual harassment. I would think that a jury would be very sympathetic with a young lady being asked prurient questions in a room alone with men. The men could go to jail if the young lady were a minor. Even a man could sue them for sexual harassment.
